My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate your goals, themes, and personal narratives. I support clients with a range of presenting issues, including:

Anxiety

Low Mood

Depression

Bereavement

Stress

Relationship Issues

Self Confidence

Negative Thoughts

Suicidal Thoughts

Depending on your needs, I may integrate CBT techniques to support changes in thinking and behaviour, or draw on psychodynamic insights to deepen our therapeutic relationship and gently explore long-held patterns that may no longer serve you.

Each session is led by you. I work collaboratively, always guided by your agenda, to help you gain greater self-understanding and clarity.

My decision to retrain as a counsellor came after experiencing a family bereavement and the transformative power of talking therapy. That journey inspired me to create a space where others can feel truly heard and supported.

About Me

My path to becoming a counsellor began with a deeply personal experience — the loss of a loved one. Navigating grief led me to talking therapy, and it was through that process that I discovered just how powerful it can be to feel truly heard, understood, and supported. That experience didn’t just help me heal — it changed the course of my life.

After many years working in the corporate world, I made the decision to retrain as a counsellor. Whilst my previous career gave me valuable insight into the pressures of high-performance environments, deadlines, and workplace dynamics, I felt increasingly drawn to work that centred on human connection and emotional wellbeing. I wanted to create a space where others could explore their challenges without judgment — a space I had once needed myself.

FAQs

What actually happens in counselling?

Counselling is a confidential space where you can talk openly about whatever’s on your mind — whether that’s stress, grief, anxiety, relationships, or simply feeling stuck. As your counsellor, I’ll listen without judgment and help you explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly online, making it easy to fit into your schedule.

Will talking about difficult things make me feel worse?

It’s natural to worry that opening up might stir up uncomfortable feelings. Sometimes, exploring painful experiences can feel intense at first — but you won’t be doing it alone. I’ll be there to support you through it, and together we’ll work at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Many clients find that talking things through brings clarity, relief, and a renewed sense of strength.

How do I know if you’re the right counsellor for me?

The relationship between client and counsellor is key. You should feel heard, respected, and comfortable. I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation to help us explore what’s brought you to counselling and whether it might be the right step for you. If we decide to move forward, we’ll arrange an initial assessment appointment — usually a full session — where we’ll talk in more depth about the difficulties you’re facing and what you hope to gain from therapy.

This session is a chance for both of us to get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit. I’ll listen carefully to your concerns and ask questions to better understand what’s going on for you. If I feel that a different therapist or organisation might be better suited to support your specific needs, I’ll discuss that with you openly and help guide you in the right direction.

If we agree that continuing together would be helpful, we’ll then talk through the practicalities of ongoing sessions, including scheduling and how we’ll work together.
